IMG_0526We made it to Paris!! We landed around 10am Paris time and were greeted at the plane by a woman-who escorted us through customs, collected our baggage, and met our driver. I highly recommend this service. We did not wait in any lines and door to door time was aprox 40 minutes.  Yay Mattman.

We are staying at the The Lancaster which is a very sweet little old hotel in the PERFECT location – on the Champs-Elysees directly across the street from the Avenue George V. Walk down to the end and you will see amazing views of the Eiffel Tower.
Once we arrived and slept for a bit – I headed out to do a little shopping. Actually a lot of shopping.

Here is what I found for the Paris trends- just a brief snap shot.

The color pink is everywhere from Louis Vuitton to Isabel Marrant (one of my favorite Parisian designers) to Maje  and Zara. I suggest this sweet little Celine to add the pop of pink in a timeless silhouette.

Black and white bold prints and “blocking”also are big – especially in dresses. Almost every designer that I saw represented this in some way. The most beautiful was a dress at Louis Vuitton – but very specific. I found a very fun little dress from Maje that perfectly represented this trend and didn’t break the bank.

In shoes- white cap toed sneakers are a must! They were everywhere from high fashion at Celine and Isabel to Adidas and Zara. Almost every chic girl in Paris wears them.

Pointed toes and stacked heels were also in many of the boutiques but I didn’t see as many on the streets.

Bags – Shoulder bags are still seen worn everywhere. Slightly more structured than in the past seasons. Celine has some real beautiful ones. My favorite is the celine classic box – could be worn cross body, shoulder, or as a clutch. Timeless. I would suggest to go with the Evelyn. When in Paris – go with Hermes!

Just a note – 2 stores you must visit as a tourist Gallery Lafayette and  Colette. Make sure you walk up and down Rue St Honore as well.

So onto the sightseeing!! We hired a private guide to take us around the city. Perfect way to see the sights.

See some pics!

On our last day before we boarded our 10 hour flight to South Africa we decided to visit the spa at George V. It is amazing and beautiful. Everyone was lovely and the services were the best I’ve had. My favorite part though was the beautiful pink florals in the lobby.

Off to South Africa!
