Oh and here are my “current fave” Valentine’s Day items.
In scouring the internet for the perfect presents for people I came across some fabulous books that are amazing for self purchase or gifts. So many of us read our books on our ipads or kindles that we forget how nice it is to hold a book, turn the pages, see the beautiful photographs and pictures, and then put into our libraries as a memory of a certain point in our lives.
Here are some of my new finds that I think are fantastic.
For the Fashionista – The Sartorialist X. From the famous blogger and fashion photographer Scott Schuman. This is a collection of photographs taken of some of the most fashionable people in fabulous cities all over the world.
I also think Clarence Dores’ Love Style Life looks very interesting. Garance Doré shares stories depicting her outlook on her career, personal life, and fashion outlook.
For the Chef – I hate Kale Cookbook – It is not quite what the title says – then again you can never judge a book by the cover right? This book offers thirty-five simple, tasty recipes that will turn any hater into a lover. (Or at least a liker.) Key word in this description is “simple.”
For the Health nut- Meditations on Intentions and Being – This book has 365 reflections inspirational daily reflections to help start your day. Perfect for the health minded person in your life or for just about anyone who wants to start their day feeling centered and inspired.
For the dog lover – The Dogist is a beautiful, funny, and inspiring tribute to the beloved dogs in our lives. I think this is my favorite one on the list. As you all know I love dogs especially our dog, Hudson. He makes me happy every morning when I see his face on my pillow. Starts my day with a smile.
It is always nice to have a fresh face…espcecially during the Holiday season when you feel worn down and a little tired. I am not one to wear much make-up but when do wear some – here is what I use to feel a bit brighter:)
I start with Laura Mercier Primer to give my face an even texture.
Then I apply some lightweight tinted moisturizer. I am not one for a heavy make-up look. I like my natural skin tone to shine through.
Then I add a bit of concealer under my eyes. I like to use one that is a bit lighter – helps to bring out the blue in my eyes.
If I am going to a party, I add a bit of eye shadow and mascara. Typically a dark mascara. “Long Lashes” always improve a look.
Next, I add some blush – I love blush! It always turns my mood right around!
And last, I add some light lipstick – typically a blush pink color – but this changes depending on my mood.
Shop some of my colors and brands:) The lipsticks and blushes are great stocking stuffer ideas!
